This Golden Monkey shines from the moment you open the bag. It has beautiful cocoa notes on the nose with a full bodied honey sweetness and pleasant after taste on the palate.

Grown near the Tai Mu mountains of Fujian province, China, Golden Monkey is known as the "king" of high grade teas.The golden color emerges during the "withering" process.  Few areas in Fujian contain these types of golden tipped varietals.  The tea term "monkey" in China, refers to the fuzzy, golden down "leaf hair" on the leaves. The golden down provides texture and smoothnesss to the tea. Chinese black teas can vary dramatically.  We recommend those with long, full leaves with consistent gold color and sweet aroma.
