Simply put the word "chai" means "tea". But Chai Mystique is far from simple. It is the perfect blend of Sri Lanka Black Tea and carefully hand selected spices to achieve a new level in the age old art of enjoying this mystical brew. To achieve the strong and intense flavor without releasing the tannins and bitter taste that longer steeping  times produce, double the amount of tea you would normally use when brewing the perfect Zen Chai Latte or Zen Iced Chai.

• Use 2 level tsp per 8 oz cup, heat water to 208 ° let steep for 5 minutes to taste. Always mix chai before measuring for brewing.
• *Zen Chai Latte - Put one (1) tsp of sugar or honey in a cup, fill to 2/3 with milk froth or steamed whole milk. Fill with the remaining brewed chai. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Chai is based on a black tea and blended with various spices such as cardamom, coriander, sweet cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and peppercorns to name a few. But with today's diverse tea connoisseur's,  chai can be based with green, white,rooibos and herbal leaf combinations. It is traditionally served with milk and sugar or honey. Chai is considered the "National Drink" in India and Sri Lanka. Often a lower quality tea is used to make chai since the strong flavors of the these spices can cover-up any deficiencies in the tea.
